Heat Alert Level 2 Issued Through Sunday – Humidex to be 40+C for Next Four Days

The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit has once again issued Level 2 of their Heat Alert System.
This Level 2 Alert covers today through Sunday, July 24th, as daily Humidex values are expected to be over 40 degrees Celsius.
Level 2 means “A heat warning is designed to signal impending health risks to the public-at-large due to a prolonged extreme heat wave”.
Level 2 is normally issued for one of the following: Four or more days reaching Humidex 40, one or more days reaching Humidex 45 or four or more nights above Humidex 28.

Today’s high temperature is expected to reach 34C, Thursday 39C and Environment Canada predicts an average high temperature of 34C, Friday – Sunday.
