Vancouver’s afro-funk orchestra Five Alarm Funk is returning to Windsor for their third visit in less than 18 months.
Five Alarm Funk will play at Phog Lounge on Friday, July 8th.
Proprietor Tom Lucier says “Part of the spectacle of having Five Alarm Funk…on that little stage is the optics of ten musicians dancing and sweating while playing outrageous dance-funk music” in reference to the 10-person band playing inside Windsor’s tiny Phog Lounge.
Lucier says, “For a band this experienced and touted so highly, it’s a feat to have them returning to recreate an intimate dance parlour in the shadow of the Capitol Theatre. ”
Five Alarm Funk takes the stage starting at 9pm.
