Local internet provider MNSi is lowering its prices at a time in which the company says most major telecommunications companies in Canada are raising rates.

The locally-owned company announced plans this week to reduce pricing for all of its higher-tiered fibre optic internet connections, starting in February.

Company spokesperson Dan Savoie says certain packages will drop anywhere from $25 to $50 per month.

The company is also removing download bandwidth caps — thereby eliminating overage costs. Savoie says all MNSi customers’ accounts will be considered unlimited from now on.

MNSi recently announced plans to invest $35 million into expanding its fibre optic network — with speeds of up to 1 Gbps — as a gradual roll-out of upgrades throughout Windsor.

The company said the upgrades will result in the fastest internet service offered in the city.
