Windsor’s riverfront was once again lit up with energy as families took in the second ever Windsor’s Artists, Visions, Energies and Sculptures, or “w.a.v.e.s.” Festival.
The festival, which was created in 2014 to connect art, culture and technology, kicked off Friday evening despite the rain and continued Saturday with hundreds of people checking out sculptures, lit-up trees, and interactive, technological art exhibits.
Projects were selected through an open call to local, emerging and national acts inviting individuals and organizations to be inspired by the theme of “waves” in sound, light, movement or otherwise.
Over 35 projects were selected.
The application asked for “the unexpected” and this year’s festival highlighted just that, animating the park throughout the day and illuminating the night through various mediums of art and surprise performance.
The event concluded Saturday evening.
