The Windsor International Film Festival has been ranked second out of 158 festivals Canada-wide, as one of the partnering festivals of TIFF’s Film Circuit.
Film Circuit is TIFF’s outreach program that aims to collaborate with local communities and events across the country by assisting with efforts to exhibit, distribute and market the art of cinema through the showcasing of Canadian and international films and filmmakers.
WIFF was ranked fourth in 2014. 2015 standings are based on attendance figures and having sold a record-breaking 17,000 tickets last year.
“We are very proud of this ranking, and this is undoubtedly due to the quality of our festival, the passion and dedication of our volunteers and the endless support of our community” said WIFF Executive Director, Vincent Georgie. “Being the 2nd biggest volunteer-run film festival in all of Canada is something Windsor can wear as a badge of pride”.
WIFF runs from November 1st to 6th, 2016.
