A toast was made to Hiram Walker at the Walkerville Brewery for his upcoming 200th birthday on the 4th of July.

Mayor Drew Dilkens announced a statue that is planned to be done for 2017 in Walkerville of Hiram Walker in honour of this occasion, as he had been a large part in the establishment of the area. The statue will be “larger than life,”the Mayor said as he unveiled the plans for the statue.

A complimentary beer was offered for those who were of age at the event, and birthday cupcakes were available for enjoyment of attendees of all ages.
