Environment Canada says the rain has ended, but the winds have picked up.
Strong and gusty west to southwest winds are expected to develop by mid morning over Southwestern Ontario.
A wind warning is in effect for gusts to 90 km/h for areas near Eastern Lake Erie. The threat for high winds will continue much of the day.
The winds may be strong enough to cause some tree damage and local power outages, especially in areas where trees remain in partial to full leaf.
Conditions will improve by Friday as the fall storm moves away into Northern Quebec.
