Firesound, a band made up entirely of City of Toronto fire fighters is heading to Windsor.
Firesound opens the WSO Toldo Pops concert season with a weekend of performances October 23rd to 25th. Members from Windsor Fire & Rescue Services will make a special appearance with Firesound and the WSO.
The concert, titled Burning Love, is programed entirely with songs about fire, burning, fever, and heat. Firesound won their episode of Canada Sings in 2011, donating the winnings to Camp Bucko—an Ontario camp for young burn victims. The band also released a CD, Burning Love, which features more than 30 Toronto fire fighters.
The Windsor Symphony Orchestra has a special tie to Firesound. Founding member, fire fighter and bassist Patrick McPhail, is also a classically trained musician who has been a fixture on the WSO stage for more than a decade and a half.
All of the band’s proceeds from CD sales and this performance with the Windsor Symphony Orchestra will to go Muscular Dystrophy Canada and Camp Bucko.
Concerts take place on Friday, October 23rd and Saturday, October 24th at 8pm and on Sunday, October 25th at 2:30pm.
