Two more streets under the Ambassador Bridge have been shut down.
City of Windsor officials said Wednesday afternoon that they are closing Donnelly Street and Peter Street and keeping Wyandotte Street West closed, all between Huron Church Road and Indian Road until further notice.
Additionally, the northbound curb/parking lane of Huron Church Road will be closed under the bridge structure however this is not expected to impede traffic.
Wyandotte Street west was closed by the city on Friday October 9th, as a precaution due to reports of debris falling from the Ambassador Bridge.
Today a further visual inspection was performed on the underside of the bridge over all street crossings by structural engineers from a consulting engineering firm.
The City says the additional closures were recommended as a public safety measure.
The City will be meeting with Ambassador Bridge representatives as soon as possible to determine next steps prior to reopening any of the areas.
