WSO Opens Season With David Jalbert & French Masters

The Windsor Symphony Orchestra opens its 68th Concert Season on Saturday, October 3rd with Debussy, Ravel, Bizet, a world premiere, and one of Canada’s top pianists.
This full evening, titled French Masters, is led by Music Director Robert Franz and features David Jalbert performing Ravel’s jazzy Piano Concerto in G.
“He plays with intelligence and exquisite taste and chooses repertoire about which he has something new and significant to say.” Robert Rowat, CBC, on David Jalbert.
In addition, for the second year, the WSO and the Art Gallery of Windsor are collaborating with season opening events. On October 2nd, members of the WSO will perform at the AGW as a part of the Friday Live opening. During intermission at the WSO on October 3rd, the AGW will project digital images highlighting works in the AGW’s new collection display Look Again! The works will include artists who have contributed to French Canadian heritage and Francophone Canada’s cultural contributions.
