Work to reconstruct Todd Lane between Malden Road and Canada Street gets underway Monday.
Todd Lane will be closed during the construction project, which is scheduled to take about 16 weeks to complete. Todd Lane will be open only to local traffic and emergency vehicles. Garbage pick-up and mail delivery is expected to remain unchanged.
The reconstruction includes water main, storm sewer and road reconstruction. A three-metre wide trail will also be constructed along the south side of the road.
Residents are being asked to use extreme caution if walking through the area. Access to homeowners’ driveways will be limited, and not available for a period of time. The contractor will work with residents to reduce this inconvenience.
Detour signs are directing motorists to use Normandy Street to Huron Church Line Road to Hwy #3. Drivers are asked to be patient and expect delays during this time.
This phase of the project will cost $4,359,000 plus HST. A second phase will take place between Canada Street and Tenth Street, and will be tendered in late summer to be complete in the fall of 2015 or in early 2016, at the latest.
