The budget has been set for Windsor’s new city hall.
Monday evening council approved a budget of just under 40 million, about 5 million over the original budget.
Council did reject spending 1.2 million to construct supports for future growth of the building.
Some Councillors felt that was money not well spent, saying that the current City Hall building was also built to support future growth and has never been expanded.
Final design should come to council in the fall with the project going to tender soon after. Construction is expected to begin in March 2016 and take two years to complete.
