Terrorism Threat Level Rises, Windsor Police Say Report Suspicious Activity

Windsor Police say that they continue to monitor events as they unfold in Ottawa regarding the tragic shooting death of a Canadian Soldier.
Police say that they have been assured that there is no imminent threat to public safety in our region.
The Integrated Terrorism Assessment Centre has elevated the terrorism threat level in Canada from low to medium based on world events, including Canada’s participation in a joint forces effort to address the threat posed by ISIS and to adopt a position similar to that of its international allies.
The Integrated Terrorism Assessment Centre is led by the Canadian Security Intelligence Service and employs members of Canada Border Services Agency , Transport Canada and the RCMP.
Windsor Police say that they remain vigilant in their communications with all policing partners at local, provincial, and federal levels including LaSalle Police, Amherstburg Police, OPP, RCMP, and members from Canadian Security Intelligence Service.
Because individual terrorists are difficult to detect, front-line police officers as well as members of the public are critical in recognizing suspicious activities that may point to someone preparing an attack. As with other similar situations, concerned citizens should contact their local police service and describe activities or behaviours that they are witnessing.
