Runners who hoped to get doused with different colours of dye are seeing red after the cancellation of Windsor’s Run or Dye race.
The event, similar to the Color Run, was scheduled to take place along the riverfront on September 20th.
Organizers cancelled the race recently and have left several registrants confused about how to get a refund.
On the event’s facebook page, users expressed confusion with the refund process, or that a link to receive a refund was not working at all.
“The event was cancelled due to lack of interest, so far the link for refunds is not working, so far very unimpressed! Was very much looking forward to this!” said Alysha Lynn on the facebook page.
Another user had a hard time getting the refund process to work.
“I received an email today saying it was canceled..tried to access the site for my refund as I pre paid but its unavailable..anyone else having this problem?!?” said Justine Allen on the facebook page.
On their website, organizers say refunds can be processed in one of four ways: by getting two tickets to another event for each ticket purchased, by getting one ticket to another event and a $25 credit for the Run or Dye online store, by getting your Run or Dye swag mailed to you and having the company make a donation to a non profit partner, or by requesting a full refund.
Run or Dye’s Jake Ackerman says they’re working quickly to process refunds. “Sometimes refunds do take time – especially right after they are announced because we get hit with hundreds of requests every hour for the first day or so.”
“Run or Dye is committed to providing every runner a refund to our cancelled event, along with making our way back to Windsor at a possible more opportune time next year,” he said.
