A little bit of rain didn’t stop hundreds of people from grabbing an early spot to watch tonight’s fireworks along the river.
Around 200 people were scattered from the Ambassador Bridge to Walkerville, five hours before the 2014 Ford Fireworks were to begin.
Don Wilson and his daughter Christine weren’t worried about rain as they sat under a tent near Riverside and Louis. “We got here around 2 and had a great day so far.”
Downtown Windsor buzzed with excitement as droves of fireworks goers travelled with lawn chairs and blankets down Ouellette.
City of Windsor parking enforcement was keen to ticket anyone parked illegally while the Windsor Police Auxiliary prepared to close key streets at 6pm.
The Fireworks begin at 10:06pm.
