University of Windsor Campus radio station CJAM 99.1 FM is taking on poverty.
The station has declared this Wednesday December 22 as Joe Strummer Day, and will hold a 24 hour marathon kicking off at midnight.
Wednesday marks the 8th anniversary of his death, and musicians and activists to join us for this day-long broadcast that is believed will have both local and international audiences.
CJAM will play 24 hours of the former Clash frontman’s music. It will combine that will reports about poverty and homelessness in Windsor and Detroit area. The broadcast will shed light on Joe’s songbook, but also his life-long protest with and without song against war, oppression, and poverty.
