Catch Some Windsor-Essex Pride Fest Events This Week

Windsor-Essex Pride Fest takes place this week with a series of activities and events to raise awareness of ongoing challenges, including discrimination, exclusion, harassment, assault and many more.
Some of those events include:
- Pride Inspired – Wednesday, August 9th, 2023, from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at the Essex Centre Sports Complex: An evening of stories and conversation featuring the 2023 Ambassadors of Pride Craig Ramsay and Gisele Shaw. They will share their stories and take questions and stories from the audience. This event has limited seating and will be on a first-come, first-serve basis.
- Friday Night Live – Friday, August 11th, 2023, from 5:00pm to 11:59pm at Lanspeary Park: This free event, MC’d by Windsor’s own Mel Lucier, features live entertainment, including Alisabeth Von Presley, Carly Thomas, Gritty Angels, Motes & Oats, Nikki Holland & The Dirty Elizabeths, and Sarah Smith as well as performances by Amanda Villa, Benz Menova and Disco Jesus. The event will also feature food and merchant vendors and much more. Over 35+ vendors will have everything from apparel to gifts, art to food and beverage.
- Run For Rocky – Saturday, August 12th, 2023, at 10:00am in Dieppe Gardens: Run for Rocky Legacy Project has partnered with Windsor-Essex Pride Fest to host the Run for Rocky Event on Pride Fest weekend. The 5 km Run/3 km Walk will take at Dieppe Gardens.
- Pride Saturday Marketplace – Saturday, August 12th, 2023, from 11:00am to 10:00pm in Lanspeary Park: Pride Fest Saturday Marketplace will feature over 65 merchants, non-profit and food vendors, kid activities and live entertainment throughout the day.
- Drag Queen Storytime & Science Hour – Saturday, August 12th, 2023, from 12:00pm to 1:00pm: Join local performer D. Ann Eh for an hour of book reading and science demonstrations for all ages and free.
- Pride Fest Parade – Sunday, August 13th, 2023 at 11;00am on Ottawa Street: Show your Pride at Windsor-Essex’s most colourful event. The parade starts at Argyle Road (Market Square) and proceeds down Ottawa Street to Lanspeary Park.
- Pride Sunday Marketplace – Sunday, August 13th, 2023, from 11:00am to 6:00pm at Lanspeary Park: Pride Fest Sunday Marketplace will feature over 65 merchants, non-profit and food vendors, kid activities and live entertainment throughout the day.
