Preparations are underway for the 2023 Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix as it returns to the streets of Downtown Detroit.

The event weekend is June 2nd to 4th, 2023, but the build-out preparations are already underway. Most of the preparatory work will occur between 8:00pm and 5:00am, with nightly temporary rerouting in downtown Detroit.

The tunnel’s operators are working with race organizers to ensure that customers can access the tunnel before and during the race events. 

Starting on May 15th, the tunnel will distribute placards that motorists should display on their dashboards to access the tunnel between May 31st and June 4th. The placards will be available at the Windsor and Detroit toll plazas or can be downloaded and printed from the tunnel’s website, www.TakeTheTunnel.com. The tunnel will also post periodic updates on its website.

Motorists are encouraged to plan ahead and allow extra time for travel due to the increased traffic in the area.
