Porter Engineered Systems Gets Ontario Funding Boost

Porter Engineered Systems received a funding boost on Monday.

The company is receiving $570,427 in funding through the Regional Development Program’s southwest Ontario Development Fund.

This funding was announced by Andrew Dowie, Member of Provincial Parliament for Windsor-Tecumeh, joined by Rick Byers, Member of Provincial Parliament for Bruce-
Grey-Own Sound.

“Our government is building Ontario and strengthening the economy by supporting key investments in communities Windsor-Tecumseh,” said MPP Dowie. “Porter Engineered Systems’ investment will grow local manufacturing and create more good-paying jobs for workers and families in the Windsor Essex region.”

Porter Engineered Systems is investing $5.5 million dollars to the project that consists of Porter Engineered Systems Inc. designing and manufacturing seating structures, mechanisms, and powertrain components at the project facility in Windsor, with expected annual revenues of approximately $3 million.

As part of the project, Porter Engineered Systems Inc. will undertake leasehold improvements at the project facility and purchase new equipment, including a bend saw, heat oven and software. As well, Porter Engineered Systems Inc. will spend $1.8 million on specialized expertise and one time labour to establish operations. 15 new jobs will be created through this project.
