The Town of LaSalle is currently accepting resumes for summer student employment. The town is offering jobs in three categories.
Boat Ramp Attendant
- The Boat Ramp Attendant Position is responsible for helping patrons with the launching and retrieval of boats at the Municipal Dock. Other duties include taking money forseasonal/day passes, record keeping, keeping the ramp area neat and tidy including picking up garbage, weeding near–by gardens, etc. The Boat Ramp Attendant Positionmust be able to work all shifts for the duration of employment. These shifts include morning, afternoon and evenings and also weekends and Holidays. Boat Ramp generally opens April 1st and closes after Thanksgiving.
Parks Student
- The Parks Student is responsible for grounds maintenance at municipal parks and buildings, operating various small implements, attachments, mowers, and hand tools related to turf and sports field maintenance. Other duties include preparing soils and transplanting foliage, weeding, watering plants, setup, and cleanup of parks for outdoor events and/or festivals. The Parks Student must be able to work all shifts for the duration of employment beginning the first day after final University/Community College exams commencing in late April or early May until September.
Public Works Student
- The Public Works Student will assist Water/Wastewater or Roads/Drainage Divisions. This position is responsible for line markings for crosswalks, stop bars, symbols etc.; fire hydrant painting; weed whipping and tree pruning; operating various small equipment and hand tools; GPS locating of infrastructure; assist the department with daily operations as needed.
