The Greater Essex County District School Board isconducting a review of its Community Police Presence and Programs, which include High School Resource Officers (HSRO), Bullying, Relationships, Alcohol, Drugs (B-RAD for Grade 9) and Values, Influences and Peers (VIP for Grade 6).
Due to previous COVID-19 restrictions, the Community Police Programs were largely paused but some virtual programming was available to students during that time. In March 2022, the GECDSB chose to extend this pause to allow for a review of community policing programs in schools.
LogicalOutcomes, a non-profit consultancy specializing in program evaluation, strategic planning and stakeholder consultation, will lead this work. The review will focus on programming goals, content, impact, and outcomes specific to the local context in Windsor-Essex County. Information will be collected through surveys, interviews, and focus groups.
