A dozen Paramedics with Essex-Windsor EMS were awarded Governor General’s Exemplary Service Awards during a ceremony Monday night at St. Clair College Centre for the Arts.
“You not only provide exceptional care and comfort in distressing times, but you are active and engaged in our community, donating your time and inspiring the next generation of paramedics to follow in your heroic footsteps,” said Warden Gary McNamara.
“You have extremely difficult jobs during the best of times and these last few years have certainly not been the best of times. Thank you for standing so tall and so strong during the pandemic. Your efforts saved lives and our community owes you a debt of gratitude.”

2020 Emergency medical Services Exemplary Service Medal Recipients:
- With 21 years of service, Dave Bart
- With 23 years of service, Michael Basinski
- With 23 years of service, Kevin Demarco
- With 25 years of service, Mark Evon
- With 21 years of service, Brad Hart
- With 23 years of service, Dawn Hodges
- With 21 years of service, Victoria Laframboise
- With 21 years of service, Peter Morassutti
- With 22 years of service, April Roberts
- With 21 years of service, Prentice Scott
2021 Emergency Medical Services Exemplary Service Medal recipients:
- With 24 years of service, Holly Beck
- With 39 years of service, Barry Mannell. Barry is not only receiving the medal, but his 30 year bar as well.
