Flags at City of Windsor facilities be lowered to half-mast in respect and recognition of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II.

The Queen was born in 1926 and ascended to the throne in 1952 when she was just 25 years old and died Thursday at the age of 96.

Windsor City Hall will also be illuminated in purple.

The city says more details regarding public memorials and commemoration events will be shared in the days ahead as plans are confirmed.
