Summer is in full swing in Windsor Essex and now is the time to take advantage of all of the Festivals, Open Streets and Night Markets happening throughout the county! Don’t let summer pass you by sitting on the couch! Get out and enjoy a ferris wheel ride, an ice cold drink on summer night patio or browse unique gifts. Whatever your speed there’s something for everyone!

The 25th Annual Belle River Sunsplash runs July 14 – 17 at Lakeview Park with Live Music and Entertainment, Belle River Brewhouse Beer Garden, carnival, fishing derby, and of course a parade! Head to beautiful Belle River on the Lake for food, fun and sun!
The CAN-AM Police-Fire Games are a biennial, multi-sport event that take place in North America. This year Windsor is hosting the Games July 26 – 31 and YOU can compete alongside the first responders in several events or cheer them on in events open to the public like FireFit on Saturday July 30th at the Riverfront Festival Plaza. The Opening Ceremonies take place on Tuesday July 26th and are FREE and open to the general public and will take place at the Riverfront Festival Plaza featuring live music from Simply Queen and Leave Those Kids Alone, a cultural food & drink experience and FREE fireworks!
Hogs for Hospice rolls into Leamington July 29 – 31 for 3 days of riding, entertainment and fun! The Cult performs at the Seacliff Park Amphitheatre on Friday July 29th and Brett Young will take to the stage Saturday July 20th for a night of country music.
Join the community in celebrating Windsor Essex Pride Fest August 3rd to 7th at Lanspeary Park on Ottawa Street. Don’t miss the parade on Sunday at 11am along Ottawa Street plus Pridefest Marketplace Saturday and Sunday and Queens of Pride Saturday evening!
Take the family to Walkerville for two days of amazement at Busk on the Block Friday August 5th and Saturday August 6th. Roads will be closed to traffic and each performance day will end with a Busk After Dark group show.
Everyone’s favourite end of summer tradition, The Harrow Fair returns for its 166th year at the Harrow Fair Grounds September 1st to 4th! The whole family will love the animals, midway, lawn tractor races, the parade and live entertainment all weekend!
A warm summer evening is the perfect time to stroll the streets and sip on a patio. Take advantage of closed streets and extended patios with some of our ‘open street’ events, including:
- Amherstburg’s Open Air Weekends taking place every Friday starting at 3pm until Sunday evenings. The streets of Downtown Amherstburg are open for visitors to enjoy with outdoor patios, cafes and sidewalk retail.
- The Town of Kingsville joins in the fun with Kingsville Open Streets Saturdays from 4pm to 10:30pm July 2nd to September 3rd. A portion of Main and Division Streets will be closed for patios to expand into the streets. Free concerts and family activities will take place each week.
Night markets continue in Walkerville, LaSalle and Leamington:
- Check out the Walkerville Distillery District Night Market on the last Friday of July and August. The night market is located in front of Walkerville Brewery and brings people together to celebrate art, entertainment, food, drink and all things local.
- LaSalle Night Markets are held the last Sunday of each month through September 25th. Vendors feature talented local artisans and crafters, farm-to-table local produce and delicious food.
- The Mill St. Market is specially curated to serve delectable street food and drinks while you shop for handcrafted arts and crafts lining the modern, reinvented, Mill Street in Leamington. With live music, you’ve never experienced a night market like this! Be a part of the Uptown Leamington Experience Friday August 19th from 5 to 10pm!
