Windsor Police have launched a security camera registry.
The new registry gives the citizens of Windsor and Amherstburg the opportunity to let police know if they have installed exterior residential or commercial security cameras. These cameras may assist police in solving a crime that happens at or near this location.
By registering your security cameras, officers can quickly determine who in the area may have Security Camera systems that may have captured useful footage and reach out to those citizens for assistance. This reduces the requirement for officers to go door-to-door during a canvass and this saved time could be crucial in helping to solve a case, make an arrest, recover property, or even save a life.
