The Town of Tecumseh is accepting candidate applications for a vacancy on Council for the position of Councillor of Ward 1, following the resignation of the former Councill after the recent provincial election.
A candidate for municipal office must be a qualified municipal elector as set out in the Municipal Elections Act, 1996. Qualified electors must be 18 years of age or older, a Canadian citizen, a resident of the Town of Tecumseh, or an owner or tenant of land in the Town or the spouse of such an owner or tenant; and not prohibited from voting under any other Act or disqualified from holding municipal office.
Interested individuals are invited to attend an information session on Tuesday, July 19th, at 5:30pm. The session will be held in Council Chambers at Town Hall, located at 917 Lesperance Road in Tecumseh.
Applications will be accepted until 2pm on Thursday, July 21st, 2022, and must be made using the form online here.
The term of the position is from the date of the Council appointment is from July 26th, 2022 to the end of this term of Council on November 14th, 2022.
