The nation’s largest mental health bike ride, Ride Don’t Hide, returns on June 26th.

Now in its 9th year locally, Ride Don’t Hide is “rolling” with the times and evolving its local rides. This year the Windsor-Essex Ride will see a return to an in-person cycling event with 10k, 20k, 50k and 100k distances, as well as the addition of a 5k and 10k walk and run and yoga on the lawn. Additionally, individuals that are not yet ready to be in a crowd can still participate virtually.

“The pandemic has been hard, but the silver lining is that more people are aware of their own mental health, and more willing to talk freely about their stresses and struggles,” says Dr. Sonja Grbevski, CEO of the Canadian Mental Health Association, Windsor-Essex County Branch. “Windsorites have displayed great resilience and courage throughout the pandemic, and this is helping bring mental health into the open.”

The event raises funds to support programs at the local branch, including the Bereavement Program, Client Assistance Fund, and Mental Health Awareness, Education and Training.

Registration is open at www.ridedonthide.com/Windsor, and individuals are encouraged to start now and join CMHA-WECB on June 26th in person.
