This past weekend, the first annual Hospice Dove Pin raised over $35,000. These funds will stay in Windsor-Essex and directly support local Hospice patients and families care.

These pins are an iconic and heartfelt representation of not only our Hospice but the thousands of patients and families Hospice has had the privilege of caring for right here, in Windsor and Essex County. Thanks to the help and generosity of Ground Effects LTD and Mega Mold International, these Dove Pins were designed and manufactured locally.

Throughout the weekend, more than 150 Hospice Volunteers offered pins at over 15 locations across Windsor-Essex, including various BMR, Home Hardware, Metro, Rexall, Shoppers Drug Mart, Sobeys and Zehrs locations. Boxes were also available at other area businesses. More than 10,000 pins were purchased by donation across locations.

“For over 40 years, our Hospice has been offering compassionate end-of-life care to our community. During that time, you may have heard about the type of work we do and the care we provide. You also may have supported our events, made a memorial donation, or had a personal experience with us,” said Nancy Brockenshire, Hospice Executive Director. “Without the support of our community, there would be no Hospice. This weekend was another amazing example of the generosity of our community – from the volunteers who gave their time to the local businesses who stepped up to support; we thank you.”

The Hospice Dove Pin Campaign will become an annual event each Spring.
