Municipal Election Candidate Session Planned For Thursday

Residents of Windsor and Essex County who are considering running in the October Municipal Election are invited to attend a free, virtual seminar on April 28th, 2022 to learn more about the process.

There will be presentations by Ken Antaya, former Mayor and Chief Administrative Officer for the Town of LaSalle, as well as presentations from representatives from Ontario’s Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing.

Anyone who is interested in attending the Zoom meeting is asked to register in advance on Zoom using the meeting registration link. After registering, participants will receive a confirmation email with information about joining the meeting. The meeting starts at 6pm.

Information to be discussed during the seminar includes the following:

  • The role of local and county councils
  • The role of municipal staff
  • Nominations and candidate eligibility
  • Candidate and third-party advertising rules and duties
  • General campaign rules and election finances
