The Hospice of Windsor and Essex County has launched a new Dove Pin fundraising campaign.   For over 40 years, the Hospice Dove has been a symbol of our local Hospice, and the care provided.

These pins are a one-inch dove-shaped lapel pin; an iconic and heartfelt representation of not only Hospice, but the thousands of patients and families Hospice has had the privilege of caring for, right here, in Windsor and Essex County.

With the help and generosity of Ground Effects LTD and Mega Mold International, these Dove Pins were designed and manufactured locally. Each pin will be offered by donation, and all funds raised will directly support care for local Hospice patients and families.

Hospice Volunteers will be offering pins at more than 15 locations across Windsor-Essex through the April 29th, 30th, and May 1st weekend, including various BMR, Home Hardware, Metro, Rexall, Shoppers Drug Mart, Sobeys and Zehrs locations.

“Our Hospice Dove Pins are the perfect representation of the extraordinary support and collaboration we have been so fortunate to receive from our community,” says Nancy Brockenshire, Hospice Executive Director. “It started with a simple idea, and when we spoke to Jim Scott and the Ground Effects Team, they said ‘leave it with us!’ They reached out to their friends at Mega Mold and within days we had prototypes, colour options, and style choices – they made our idea a reality.”

“We are so happy to have been involved on this project,” says Jim Scott, “Hospice is very close to our hearts, and both the Ground Effects and the Mega Mold teams are proud to help.”

“Stop by this weekend to say hello to our amazing volunteers, make a donation, and proudly wear your own Hospice Dove Pin,” added Brockenshire. “We hope that you will wear one in memory of a loved one, in honour of our Hospice patients and families, or to show your support for our Hospice.”

A list of locations where pins will be made available, as well as additional information about the campaign can be found at www.TheHospice.ca/Event/DovePin.
