The WSO will perform the Ukrainian national anthem at the top of this weekend’s Masterworks concert, A Hero’s Symphony. The WSO will also collect financial donations for the Ukrainian National Federation of Windsor.

The theme of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3 is enlightenment and freedom of rights for all, speaks to the hopes of the Ukraine.

“Our hearts go out to all the Ukrainian people. By performing their national anthem, we honour the people of Ukraine and stand in solidarity with their right to live peaceful, independent lives. Beethoven’s music rings as true today as it did over 200 years ago when it was written,” said Maestro Robert Franz.
