Local Expert Blog: Failing To Plan Is Planning To Fail

The calendar, and maybe the temperatures outside, still say Winter, but the truth is that Spring is right around the corner. Before long the nicer weather will be here to stay, and outdoor party season will be in full swing. While we have always recommended that our customers reserve their rental items early, this is more important now than ever before. As COVID restrictions ease and all of us tiptoe (or maybe run full sprint), back to some semblance of “normal”, we have lots to celebrate and lost time to make up!

Here are 3 reasons that NOW is the time to plan your warm-weather celebration!

  1. Plan Now; DON’T Stress Later

Planning ahead and preparing for all scenarios is your best mode of defence when it comes to minimizing last-minute party planning stress. Create a Plan A and a Plan B (and maybe even a Plan C) for things like guest count, food and most importantly, weather. While we can envision the most breathtaking events with gorgeous sunshine or clear starry night skies, Mother Nature may have something else in mind. Don’t let the rain ruin your day by having a plan in place just in case. Rent a tent, have an indoor space as backup or stock up on umbrellas and rain boots and make the best of it! Whatever your preference, always have a plan for inclement weather when planning an outdoor celebration.

  1. Reserve Early for Availability

When it comes to laying out Plan A, B & C, it’s key to ensure all items required for each of those options are available and reserved if needed. If your rainy weather plan is to have a tent for shelter, you will want to make certain that said tent is reserved well in advance to ensure availability. A non-refundable booking deposit is usually required to secure these types of rental products. Securing a tent rental early with a deposit gives you peace of mind and guarantee that you have a dry area for friends & family. Don’t forget that a tent is not only great for a rain plan, but also for shade from the hot sun! It is also recommended to reserve maximum numbers for things like tableschairs and dishware and reduce those numbers once RSVPs are received if needed.

  1. Celebrate Good Times; Come On!

Let’s face it, this pandemic has taken its toll on all of us. We are tired, we miss our friends and family and we are ready to celebrate with some happy times in 2022. Nowhere is this more evident than in the event industry and advanced bookings placed thus far. People are hopeful and optimistic for a “normal” Spring & Summer. Community festivals & large fundraising events are once again getting the green light to proceed and are quickly scooping up tents, portable toilets, chairs and other such rental items. Add these large events to the already full schedule of postponed weddings and parties and our season of celebrations will quickly be booked to capacity. Making sure you get your order in before availability runs out is key!

While last-minute orders can certainly work out sometimes, being prepared in advance, reserving your rental products early and covering all your bases now is the best way to go. Minimize stress and maximize the fun. Plan now, secure your rental items early and let the good times roll!

As always, we encourage everyone to #celebratesafely and follow all guidelines and regulations as outlined by your local health unit.
