The milestone 50,000th public animal to be spayed or neutered at the clinic was named Cheddar.

The Windsor/Essex County Humane Society preformed their 50,000th public spay/neuter surgery on Saturday.

The Veterinary Clinic opened in 2011 to increase access to spay/neuter in our community.

The Humane Society is already planning for the next 50,000. With the support of an anonymous donor, the WECHS has launched a “Spay it Forward” fundraiser.  In an effort to reduce the number of homeless cats in the community, every donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $5,000 for the month of March 2022.   To donate visit, www.windsorhumane.org/donatenow to donate online.
