Health Unit COVID-19 Cases & Outbreaks Update For Wednesday

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit announced 117 new cases of COVID-19 in Windsor and Essex County on Wednesday. The Health Unit only reports high-risk cases as testing eligibility is still limited.

Total Cases & Active Cases

Total overall cases increased from on 36,607 on Tuesday, February 15th to 36,726 on Wednesday, February 16th.

There are 523 cases of COVID-19 currently active in Windsor-Essex (increase of 27 cases since yesterday).

Vaccinations

Here’s the Health Unit’s vaccination update for today (residents of Windsor-Essex).

  • 354,705 people have received at least one dose of a vaccine (+94 since yesterday)
  • 338,935 people have received both doses of a vaccine (+231 since yesterday)
  • 184,536 people have received a 3rd dose/booster shot of a vaccine (+309 since yesterday)

Vaccination Percentages

  • 85.9 per cent of Windsor-Essex residents (ages 5+) have received at least one dose of a vaccine (increase of < 0.1 per cent since yesterday)
  • 82.1 per cent of Windsor-Essex residents (ages 5+) are fully vaccinated (increase of < 0.1 per cent since yesterday)
  • 52.7 per cent of Windsor-Essex residents (ages 18+) have received a 3rd dose/booster (increase of 0.1 per cent since yesterday)
