Health Unit COVID-19 Cases & Outbreaks Update For Friday

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit announced 127 new cases of COVID-19 in Windsor and Essex County on Friday. The Health Unit now only reports high-risk cases as testing eligibility is still limited.

Total Cases & Active Cases

Total overall cases increased from on 36,162 on Thursday, February 10th to 36,287 on Friday, February 11th.

There are 638 cases of COVID-19 currently active in Windsor-Essex (decrease of 3 cases since yesterday).

Vaccinations

Here’s the Health Unit’s vaccination update for today (residents of Windsor-Essex).

• 354,172 people have received at least one dose of a vaccine (+201 since yesterday)
• 337,595 people have received both doses of a vaccine (+370 since yesterday)
• 182,937 people have received a 3rd dose/booster shot of a vaccine (+491 since yesterday)

Vaccination Percentages

• 85.8 per cent of Windsor-Essex residents (ages 5+) have received at least one dose of a vaccine (increase of < 0.1 per cent since yesterday)
• 81.8 per cent of Windsor-Essex residents (ages 5+) are fully vaccinated (increase of 0.1 per cent since yesterday)
• 52.3 per cent of Windsor-Essex residents (ages 18+) have received a 3rd dose/booster (increase of 0.1 per cent since yesterday)

The Health Unit lists 66 hospitalizations today (increase of 4), and 9 of those hospitalizations are in the ICU (increase of 1).
