Gourmet grocery store Mercato Fresh will be opening a location in Windsor.
Rosati Construction Inc., who will be designing and building the store, announced the expansion on Monday.
The new store will be located at 3235 Banwell Road in Windsor and will be the company’s second location. Mercato Fresh opened its first store in Chatham in February 2020.
Mercato Fresh is known for its fresh produce, butcher, fresh bread, and grocery items. The store was voted best ‘Specialty Food Store’ and ‘Butcher / Meat Shop’ by the Chatham Daily News in 2021.
The new location will be constructed on a five acre property.
A groundbreaking ceremony for the store is set for Tuesday afternoon.
