The Windsor Essex County Health Unit announced 409 new cases of COVID-19 in Windsor and Essex County on Thursday.
NOTE: The Health Unit stresses that due to the recent surge in Omicron cases and changes in eligibility for testing, testing capacity is limited and case, contact, and outbreak management has been modified to focus on high-risk settings. As a result, they say case counts are an underestimate of the true number of individuals with COVID-19 in Windsor-Essex.
New & Total Cases
The Health Unit says 13 cases are close contacts of confirmed cases, 16 cases are community acquired, 2 cases are outbreak related, and the acquisition sources of 378 cases are still under investigation.
Total overall cases increased from 29,959 on Wednesday January 12th to 30,368 on Thursday January 13th.
There are 3,711 cases of COVID-19 currently active in Windsor-Essex (increase of 60 cases since yesterday).
