The Windsor Essex County Health Unit announced 270 new cases of COVID-19 in Windsor and Essex County on Friday.
NOTE: The Health Unit stresses that due to the recent surge in Omicron cases and changes in eligibility for testing, testing capacity is limited and case, contact, and outbreak management has been modified to focus on high-risk settings. As a result, they say case counts are an underestimate of the true number of individuals with COVID-19 in Windsor-Essex.
New & Total Cases
The Health Unit says 2 cases are close contacts of confirmed cases, 10 cases are community acquired, 6 cases are outbreak related, and the acquisition sources of 252 cases are still under investigation.
Total overall cases increased from 30,368 on Thursday January 13th to 30,638 on Friday January 14th.
There are 3,716 cases of COVID-19 currently active in Windsor-Essex (increase of 5 cases since yesterday).
