The Town of Essex is requesting that residents register their residential or commercial security alarm system to avoid a $180 false alarm penalty fee and reduce the demand on the police service.
A police response to a false alarm in the Town of Essex could result in a $180 penalty fee for the owner.
“With the continued growth of residential and commercial security alarm systems in the Town, police services are faced with responding to a growing number of false alarms. The false dispatches associated with the responses lead to an increased demand on the police service. As a result, the Town of Essex is asking that all residential and commercial property owners who have a security alarm register their system,” said a release from the town.
To register your residential or commercial security alarm system, complete the online form at www.essex.ca/FalseAlarm, call 519-776-7336 ext.0, or visit Town Hall.
