The Canadian Government is asking Canadians to avoid all non-essential travel outside of the country due to the rapidly spreading Omicron variant.

Federal Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos made the announcement Wednesday afternoon.

For those who were planning to travel, “now is not the time,” he said.  He warns those who choose to could contract the virus or even get stuck out of the country.

These measures will be in place for at least four weeks.
