The Windsor Essex County Health Unit announced 70 new cases of COVID-19 in Windsor and Essex County from over the weekend. The Health Unit does not report case counts and statistics on weekends but provides a weekend summary.

Of the 70 new cases: 18 cases were reported on October 30th, 31 cases were reported on October 31st, and 21 cases were reported on November 1st.

The Health Unit says 36 cases are close contacts of confirmed cases, 17 cases are community acquired, 2 cases are travel-related, and the acquisition sources of 15 cases are still under investigation.

Total overall cases increased from 20,490 on Friday October 29th to 20,560 on Monday November 1st.

They say 195 cases of COVID-19 are currently active in Windsor-Essex (increase of 21 since Friday).
