Health Unit COVID-19 Cases & Outbreaks Update For Tuesday

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit announced 85 new cases of COVID-19 in Windsor and Essex County on Tuesday.

New & Total Cases

The Health Unit says 32 cases are close contacts of confirmed cases, 16 cases are community acquired, 3 cases are outbreak related, 1 case is travel related, and the acquisition sources of 33 cases are still under investigation.

Total overall cases increased from 21,742 on Monday November 29th to 21,827 on Tuesday November 30th.

They say 533 cases of COVID-19 are currently active in Windsor-Essex (increase of 35 since yesterday).

Vaccinations

Here’s the Health Unit’s vaccination update for today (residents of Windsor-Essex):

  • 333,723 people have received at least one dose of a vaccine (+679 since yesterday)
    • 16,517 people have received only their first dose of a vaccine
    • 317,206 people have received both doses of a vaccine (+212 since yesterday)
    • 23,986 people have received a 3rd dose/booster shot of a vaccine (+1,843 since yesterday)
  • A total of 674,915 vaccine doses have been administered to Windsor-Essex County residents (+2,734 since yesterday)

Vaccination Percentages

  • 76.1 per cent of Windsor-Essex residents (all ages) have received at least one dose of a vaccine (increase of 0.1 per cent since yesterday)
    • 80.9 per cent of Windsor-Essex residents (ages 5+) have received at least one dose of a vaccine (increase of 0.2 per cent since yesterday)
  • 72.4 per cent of Windsor-Essex residents (all ages) are fully vaccinated (increase of 0.1 per cent since yesterday)
    • 76.9 per cent of Windsor-Essex residents (ages 5+) are fully vaccinated (increase of 0.1 per cent since yesterday)
  • 5.4 per cent of Windsor-Essex residents (all ages) have received a 3rd dose/booster shot of a vaccine (increase of 0.4 per cent since yesterday)

Note: The Health Unit says 438,001 people are living in Windsor and Essex County presently.

The Health Unit lists 20,823 total resolved cases.

That’s an increase of 50 resolved cases since yesterday.

Deaths

There have been no additional deaths from COVID-19 and the local death toll stands at 471.

Hospitalizations

The Health Unit lists 18 hospitalizations today: 11 people in acute care (decrease of 1), and 10 people in the ICU (increase of 4) with confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Windsor Essex.
