COVID-19 Cases Reported At Seven More Windsor Essex Public Schools

The Greater Essex County District School Board is reporting COVID-19 cases at seven more schools in Windsor-Essex.

The board is reporting four cases in students at D.M. Eagle Public School on November 14th and 1 case in a student on November 16th, one case in a student at General Amherst High School on November 14th, two additional cases in students at Leamington District Secondary School on November 15th, one additional case in a student at Northwood Public School on November 15th, one additional case in a student at Riverside Secondary School on November 15th, one case in a student at Talbot Trail Public School on November 12th, and one additional case in a student at Tecumseh Vista Academy – Elementary on November 14th.

Greater Essex County District School Board public relations officer Scott Scantlebury has said the board does not release information about the number of cohorts or students affected by the case.

The board sent letters to the D.M. Eagle school community, the General Amherst school community, the Leamington District school community, the Northwood school community, the Riverside school community, the Talbot Trail school community, and the Tecumseh Vista school community.

“We have been working with the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU) by providing lists of students and staff who may have been in contact with the individual,” the letters state. “If you have not been contacted, you or your child (ren) have not been identified as close contacts. The WECHU is contacting any individuals (students and staff) who have an identified high-risk exposure with the confirmed case and will give directions to follow.
