One of Windsor’s most popular summer festivals, Art in the Park, will be returning in 2022.

Organizers say after a two year absence the festival will be returning June 4th and 5th, 2022. They say public interest is expected to be as high as ever.

Art in the Park organizers say they’re updating and refining their procedures and the event is planned to use technology to host an eco-friendly festival that generates less paper and waste, with online ticket sales, cashless transactions and app-based maps and directories.

“These new tools allow us to streamline the way people enter the park and locate favourite vendors,” says, co-chair Allan Kid. “But more importantly, they make our event safer and cleaner. In this way, we secure the future of Art in the Park and Rotary as responsible partners within the community.”

The festival was cancelled both in 2020 and 2021.

The event, which is volunteer and charity-run, has raised over $1.3 million over the past 42 years for the restoration of Willistead Manor, and around $2.1 million more to support local and international efforts of the Rotary Club of Windsor (1918).

“The event itself is our gift to the people of Windsor/Walkerville, but the money raised allows us to do even more,” says Kidd. “Because of Art in the Park, the members of our Rotary club have been able to give over $1 million towards the restoration and upkeep of the Manor and have generated more than $2 million for projects to combat poverty, disease, and illiteracy locally and around the world.”

The festival has also issued a call for exhibitors for the 2022 show. You can find out how to apply here: https://rotary1918.com/page/art-in-the-park
