Windsor Police report that 98% of their members have provided proof of vaccination or have been approved for an accommodation.

On October 8th, 2021 the Windsor Police Service adopted a vaccination policy that required all staff to provide proof of vaccination status or to apply for and obtain a medical or human rights accommodation by November 26yj, 2021. Training and education activities were undertaken to help respond to any questions or concerns regarding vaccine efficacy and safety.

The approximately 2% of employees who remain unvaccinated and are subject to the provisions of the Service’s vaccine policy. As a result, these members are not eligible to enter the workplace. If these members update their immunization status as outlined in the policy, they will be permitted to return to the workplace.

Police want to reassure residents that we will continue to provide the quality of service that Windsor and Amherstburg residents expect.

“All members of the Windsor Police Service are valued and respected and I recognize that many of our members have had to make a very difficult decision. The safety of the communities we serve and our membership remains our number one priority. I am confident that the level of service we provide our communities will not waver and that there is no concern to public safety,” says Chief Pamela Mizuno.
