Hello time traveller!!
This article is 935 days old.
The information listed below is likely outdated and has been preserved for archival purposes.

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit announced 100 new cases of COVID-19 in Windsor and Essex County from over the weekend. The Health Unit does not report case counts and statistics on weekends but provides a weekend summary.

New & Total Cases

Of the 100 new cases: 32 were reported on October 2nd, 40 were reported on October 3rd, and 28 were reported on October 4th.

The Health Unit says 55 cases are close contacts of confirmed cases, 20 cases are community acquired, 10 cases are outbreak related, 1 case is travel related, and the acquisition sources of 14 cases are still under investigation.

Total overall cases increased from 19,742 on Friday October 1st to 19,842 on Monday October 4th.

They say 278 cases of COVID-19 are currently active in Windsor-Essex (decrease of 19 since Friday).

Variants of Concern

The Health Unit says 4,386 preliminary or confirmed variant of concern cases have been identified to date (increase of 65 since Friday).

Variant case strains:
