The Greater Essex County District School Board is reporting COVID-19 cases at six more schools in Windsor-Essex on Tuesday.

The board is reporting one case in a staff member at Essex Public School on October 12th, one case in a student at Giles Campus French Immersion on October 12th, one case in a student at Kennedy Secondary School on October 11th, two cases in students at Leamington District Secondary School on October 12th, four cases in students at Marlborough Public School on October 10th, and one case in a staff member at Walkerville Collegiate Institute on October 12th.

Greater Essex County District School Board public relations officer Scott Scantlebury has said the board does not release information about the number of cohorts or students affected by the case.

The board sent letters to the Essex Public school community, the Giles Campus school community, the Kennedy Collegiate school community, the Leamington District school community, the Marlborough school community, and the Walkerville Collegiate school community.

“We have been working with the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU) by providing lists of students and staff who may have been in contact with the individual,” the letters state. “If you have not been contacted, you or your child (ren) have not been identified as close contacts. The WECHU is contacting any individuals (students and staff) who have an identified high-risk exposure with the confirmed case and will give directions to follow.”
