The Greater Essex County District School Board is reporting COVID-19 cases at five more schools in Windsor-Essex on Friday morning.

The board is reporting one additional case in a student at Dougall Public School on September 23rd, one case in a student at Forest Glade on September 23rd, one case in a student at Queen Victoria on September 23rd, one additional case in a student at Sandwich West Public School on September 23rd, and one case in a student at the Trillium Learning Centre’s Connaught Campus (3901 Connaught) on September 23rd.

Greater Essex County District School Board public relations officer Scott Scantlebury has said the board does not release information about the number of cohorts or students affected by the case.

The school board sent letters to the Dougall Public School community, the Forest Glade Public School community, the Queen Victoria community, the Sandwich West Public School community, and the Trillium Leaning Centre community.

“We have been working with the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU) by providing lists of students and staff who may have been in contact with the individual,” the letters state. “If you have not been contacted, you or your child (ren) have not been identified as close contacts. The WECHU is contacting any individuals (students and staff) who have an identified high-risk exposure with the confirmed case and will give directions to follow.”
