The Downtown Windsor Community Collaborative is holding their 6th Annual Spruce the Bruce, a cleanup of downtown Windsor’s neighbourhoods on Sunday, August 22nd, 2021, beginning at Bruce Avenue Park.
They are looking for volunteers of all ages to help with the community cleanup, which runs from 2pm to 4pm, followed by sports and games for kids and families, then a free community BBQ at 5pm.
“Since 2016, the DWCC has organized a volunteer-driven cleanup of the downtown core parks, alleys and sidewalks to improve the quality of living and continue the revitalization of the downtown community,” said Robert Cameron, DWCC Co-Director.
This year’s event will begin at the redeveloped Bruce Avenue Park. Garbage bags and gloves will be provided.
The DWCC’s Spruce the Bruce Community Cleanup is supported by the City of Windsor, Rose City Clean Sweep Program and sponsored by the downtown Tim Hortons who will provide refreshments to those who help with the cleanup.
Volunteers can RSVP ahead of time through the DWCC Facebook page.
