The information listed below is likely outdated and has been preserved for archival purposes.

The Windsor Essex County Health Unit announced 213 new cases of COVID-19 in Windsor and Essex County from over the weekend. The Health Unit no longer reports case counts and statistics on weekends and now provides a weekend summary on Mondays.

New & Total Cases

Of the 213 new cases, 57 cases were reported on August 28th, 88 cases were reported on August 29th, and 68 cases were reported on August 30th.

The Health Unit says 47 cases are close contacts of confirmed cases, 19 cases are community acquired, 8 cases are outbreak related, 3 cases are travel related, and the acquisition sources of 136 cases are still under investigation.

Total overall cases increased from 17,904 on Friday August 27th to 18,117 on Monday August 30th.

They say 518 cases of COVID-19 are currently active in Windsor-Essex (increase of 46 since Friday).

Variants of Concern

The Health Unit says 2,957 preliminary or confirmed variant of concern cases have been identified to date (increase of 216 since Friday).
